Elsie Louise Palmer Sheppeard, 64, of Columbus, MS passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014 at her residence. Visitation was Sunday, May 18, 2014 from 4 - 6 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services were Monday, May 19, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bob Burch officiating. Interment was in Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Sheppeard was born December 1, 1949 in Shaw, MS to the late John D. Palmer and L.V. Hatley Palmer. She was a homemaker and a member of Dry Creek Baptist Church in Preston, MS. Mrs. Sheppeard was a resident of Columbus, MS for the past 25 years having moved from Meridian, MS. Mrs. Sheppeard is survived by her husband Lonnie Sheppeard; Sons- Dwayne (Dori) Sheppeard, Caledonia, MS and John Gregory Sheppeard, Columbus, MS; daughter- Cassie (Shawn) Burmaster, Caledonia, MS; grandchildren- Ashton Sheppeard, Tyler Sheppeard, Caitlyn Sheppeard, Brianna Woychesin, Chandler Zimmer, Thomas Burmaster, Brayden Burmaster, Lexie Sheppeard, Kinsley Sheppeard and sister- Barbara Edwards, Enid, MS. Pallbearers were Shane Edwards, Christian Edwards, Jody Hankins, Tyler Sheppeard, Logan Edwards and Marion Palmer. Honorary Pallbearers were Gary Sheppeard, Butch Edwards, Bob Mayor and Gene Burmaster.
