Elvira T. Layer, 84, of Columbus, MS passed away Monday, December 25, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at 10:00 AM at Friendship Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Dr. Shawn Parker officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Layer was born September 22, 1933, in Columbus, MS to the late Louis Clifton Antrim and the late Floy Godfrey Antrim. She worked as a receptionist for Seminole. Mrs. Layer was of the Baptist faith and attended Immanuel Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband- Jimmy Layer, and her sister- Evelyn Louise Smith.

Mrs. Layer is survived by her sister-in-law- Nina (John) Poss of Columbus, MS; nephew- Lee Poss; and a host of friends.
