Elzie Bruce McCool, 81, of Caledonia, MS passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023, at his residence.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 16, 2023, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel, Columbus, MS. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing.

Mr. McCool was born October 28, 1941, in Columbus, MS to the late Elzie Lonzo McCool and Fannie Maud Smith McCool. He drove the school bus for New Hope High School during his senior year and served in the Army National Guard. He retired from Ambac after 41 years where he worked as a Forklift driver. He also worked at The Junction for almost 20 years. Mr. McCool was an outdoorsman who loved to garden, hunt, fish and was well known for looking out for other people. In addition to his parents, Mr. McCool is preceded in death by his sister, Faye McCool.

Mr. McCool is survived by his wife of 49 years- Beverly Simmons McCool; daughter- Stephanie (Jamie) Wallace; son- Michael McCool; sister- Shirley Thomason; brother- Raymond McCool; grandchildren- Gabrielle and James Wallace; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Mike McCoy, Michael Merchant, Ronnie Pennington, Donald Taylor, Joe Thomason, and Joe Young. Honorary pallbearers will be Patrons at The Junction, David Taylor, Sterling McCool, Jason Blackston, and Lloyd Christmas.
