Obituary

Emma Jewell Shaw, 88, passed away Monday, September 28, 2015 at her residence. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, October, 2, 2015 at 11:00am at the Rowan Cemetery Chapel, Caledonia, MS with Bro. Bill Duncan officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Shaw was born August 2, 1927 to George Graham and Nannie Robinson Graham in Mississippi. She was a homemaker who loved to cook for everyone, and she always put her family first. As an active member of East End Baptist Church, she supported and loved the youth in her church. Mrs. Shaw was a seamstress extraordinaire, loved flowers, and enjoyed working in the yard. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband-Shelby Shaw; sisters-Fredna Gaston and Louise Collins; and brother-Bud Graham. Mrs. Shaw is survived by her daughters-Linda (Jimmy) Jones, Caledonia, MS, and Cathy (Tom) Young, Columbus, MS; Grandchildren-Brian (Gretchen) Jones, Hernando, MS; Jennifer Jones, Columbus, MS; Emily (J. D.) Frizzell, Cordova, TN; Graham Young, Columbus, MS; Great Grandchild-Jacob Jones, Hernando, MS; brother-George Graham, Mantee, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Brian Jones, Graham Young, J. B. Frizzell, Vic Nickels, Jerry Nickels, Phil Graham, Kirk Reid and Terry Graham. Honorary pallbearers will be the Bible Book Sunday School class Members, Todd Mordecai and the East End Baptist Church Youth Group, Ernie Smith, Travis Berry, Mac Pace, and Mel Sharp. Memorials may be made to East End Baptist Church Youth Group, P. O. Box 8480, Columbus, MS 39705.
