Erlene Crutchfield Alford went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 4, 2021. At the age of 90, she passed peacefully at home surrounded by family.

She worked for both American Bosch and Mississippi State University, but her great love was her family. To the family, she was Mama, Granny, and Aunt Erke. She was the epitome of a strong, independent woman who raised 4 daughters and played an important role in raising several grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, attended gospel singing, and spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents- Thomas and Ruth Crutchfield, four of her sisters- Ruth Stockman, Louise Ellis, Effie Thompson, and Irene Carter, four brothers- Franklin Crutchfield, Edwin Crutchfield, Earl Crutchfield, and Jimmy Crutchfield and a great-grandchild- Brooklyn Lewis-Kelly.
She is survived by 2 sisters- Betty Vaugine of Missouri and Pasty Lovell of Arkansas, 4 daughters- Nancy Bordelon (Don) of Louisiana, Janice Brown (George) of Texas, Mary Guin (Warren) of Mississippi, and Carolyn Andrews (Tim) of Mississippi. She leaves behind 7 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild. And a host of nieces and nephews. She was loved and will be dearly missed.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
