Estelle Rushing

Estelle B. Rushing, 90 of Columbus, MS, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2026, at her residence.

Visitation will be Monday, June 8, 2026, from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 P.M. Lowndes Funeral Home is entrusted with all arrangements.

Mrs. Rushing was born August 7, 1935, in Fayette, Alabama, to the late Riley Brazil and Daisy Sprinkle Brazil. She retired in 2001 as a floor supervisor at Sanderson Plumbing in Columbus, MS. Mrs. Rushing attended the Church of Christ in Columbus, MS. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rushing is preceded in death by her first husband, ML Howard, and her most recent husband, David Rushing; children- Cynthia Pickens and Ted Allen Howard; grandson- Donald Pickens; siblings- J.D. Brazil, Nannie B. Dozier, Joyce Ferguson, Maxine Barton, and Loutine Thomas.

Mrs. Rushing is survived by her son, Terry Wayne Howard; brother, Ted Brazil; and grandchildren – Jason Howard, Melissa Bond, Shanna Woodson, Christy Howard, and Jessica Howard; 13 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
