Eva Nabors Johnson, 78 of Columbus, MS passed away Monday, July 28, 2014 at the Windsor Place, Columbus, MS. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 29, 2014 from 2-3 pm at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral services will follow at 3 pm in the Chapel with Bro. Steve Lammons officiating. Interment will be at Forest Cemetery, Pickens County, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Johnson was born January 29, 1936 in Steens, MS to the late Pervey and Elsie Phillips Nabors. Before her retirement in 2010, she worked for the Commercial Dispatch. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Canaan Baptist Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She played bingo at the VFW. In addition to her parents Mrs. Johnson is preceded in death by her brother-Cecil Nabors and a sister-Marie Perrigin. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her daughter-Joyce Price, West Point, MS, son-Jimmy Smith, Columbus, MS; brother-Phillip Nabors, Columbus, MS and a grandchild-Brad (Kellee) Price. Pallbearers will be Bob Petersen, Kenny Smith, Doug Lee, Dennis Jewell, Tommy Patterson and Gerry Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the VFW Post #4272.
