Evelyn Grace Fitzgerald, 85 of Columbus, MS passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at College View Personal Care Home, Columbus, MS.

A graveside service will be Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Ebenezer United Methodist Cemetery, Fernbank, AL with Bro. Kenny Gardner officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Fitzgerald was born January 6, 1935 to the late John Frank and Leah Ellen Wilburn Brewer in Belzoni, MS.  She graduated from Hamilton High School, Hamilton, AL in 1953 where she was Miss Hamilton High.  Mrs. Fitzgerald was a secretary for over 40 years with Standard Life Insurance Company and MetLife Insurance Company. She worked with Mother's Day Out at First Baptist Church, Columbus, MS for 18 years.   Mrs. Fitzgerald was a member of Canaan Baptist Church, Columbus, MS.  She enjoyed antiquing and loved her puppies.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fitzgerald was preceded in death by her husband – John Fitzgerald, Sr.

Mrs. Fitzgerald is survived by her son – John (Abby) Fitzgerald, Jr., Columbus, MS; grandchildren – Ninna (Robby) Knight and Victoria (Justin) Bridgman; great-grandchild – William Adam Knight; sister – Shelia (Bill) Robertson; nieces – ReNay (Rick) Robertson, Terri (Bill) York-Linz and Debbie (Mike) Paoloini.
