Ezella Eva Hymel Grissom, 86, of Columbus, MS passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021 at her residence.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 7, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Canaan Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM with Bro. Paul Shaw and Bro. David Westmoreland officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing.
Mrs. Grissom was born on July 19, 1935, in Stephensville, LA to the late Ozella Duval Hymel and Sidney Hymel. She enjoyed volunteering and helping others, crocheting, playing BINGO, dominos, and playing cards with friends. She was in the senior band at Trinity, was an active member at Canaan Baptist Church, and loved to travel with her family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Grissom is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Edward Grissom; and her brothers, Aries Hymel, and Herbert Hymel.
Mrs. Grissom is survived by a son, Joseph (Amanda) Grissom of Columbus, MS; daughter, Amanda Burns of Panama City, FL; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Sue Gaspard, Leola Loftin, and Letitia Blanchard.
Pallbearers will be Taylor Burns, Will McCollough, Tim Wilcox, Aaron Lee, Pat Davidson, Scott Essick, Joe Quatrevingt, and Darrell Winters. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Brian Boyd, Dr. William Rosenblatt, Dr. Michael Duckworth, and the staff of Baptist Hospice.
