Frances Mae Gavin Dodd, 91, of Columbus, MS passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017, at New Horizon Nursing Home, Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 4, 2017, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at 2:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Al Hamm officiating and Bro. Brent Vickery assisting. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Dodd was born April 6, 1926, in Cliftonville, MS to the late William Harrison Gavin and the late Myrthel Estell Wright Gavin. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Victory Free Will Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. Mrs. Dodd was an assembly line worker at Bosch for 35 years. She loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. Mrs. Dodd also loved her church and church family. She had a helping in the start of Victory Christian Academy, Columbus, MS. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dodd was preceded in death by her beloved husband- Malcolm Lynwood Dodd, and her daughter- Sherry Lynn Ross.

Mrs. Dodd is survived by her daughter- Terry Gwen (Brent) Vickery of Virginia; son-in-law- Trent Ross of South Haven, MS; grandchildren- Shelby Ross of Columbus, MS, Rebecca (Jaime) Westmoreland of Pontotoc, MS, Gavin (Meg) Vickery of Virginia, and Corbin (Priscilla) Vickery of Virginia; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters- Doris Atkins of Columbus, MS and Cora Elizabeth Dilley of Columbus, MS.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Atkins, Gary Atkins, Brent Atkins, Brent Vickery, Trent Ross, and Chris Hamm.
