Frances Joan Langford, 81, of Columbus, MS passed away Thursday, August 13, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT.
A private memorial service will be held Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 2PM and will be live on the Artesia Baptist Church Facebook Page.
Mrs. Langford was born November 20, 1938 in Mayhew, MS to the late Pearl Shook and Franklin Higdon Thompson. She was a secretary, school bus driver, and worked in the cafeteria at West Lowndes School for a long time, also she and her husband ran Artesia Café for many years and she worked part time at the Post Office in Artesia. Mrs. Langford was a member of Artesia Baptist Church, she was the church secretary and the choir director for many years. She enjoyed sewing, reading, gardening, and was a great cook. Mrs. Langford enjoyed spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Langford is preceded by her husband-David Aubrey Langford; grandchild- Tanner Cherry; and two brothers- Truman Thompson and Don Thompson.
Mrs. Langford is survived by her daughters- Susan (Tim) Edmonds of Artesia, MS, Linda (Russell) Childs, and Lisa Crawley; son- David (Kim) Langford; grandchildren- Jason Edmonds, Paul Edmonds, Ross Jolly, Drew Crawley, Hunter Crawley, Zack Crawley, Aubrey Langford, and Austin Cherry; great-grandchild- Aiden Crawley; and brother- Raymond Thompson.
