Frances Gray McKay, 103, of Columbus, MS passed away Sunday, May 16, 2021, at Trinity Place Personal Care in Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 20, 2021, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM with Bro. Steve Lammons officiating and Dr. Billy McKay assisting. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing.

Mrs. McKay was born on November 18, 1917, in Deason, MS to the late Alice Hollingsworth Gray, and Dan Gray. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church since 1955 and has served on various committees and positions at the church. Mrs. McKay was a beloved teacher for 37 years and was in the Lowndes County Teachers Hall of Fame.  Mrs. McKay is preceded in death by her parents- Alice Hollingsworth Beard and Dan Gray; husband- Robert Wilson McKay, Sr.; son- Robert McKay, Jr.; and sons-in-law- Bill Conner, and Ed Teague.

Mrs. McKay is survived by her daughters- Elaine (John Wick) Teague of Keystone Heights, FL, and Barbara Conner of Columbus, MS; grandchildren- Matthew (Sara) McKay Teague, Tara (Doug) Johnson, Kameron (Bill) Ball, Courtney (Wiley) Hutchins, Wendy (Kent) Brendle, and Rob (Emily) McKay; 15 great-grandchildren, and daughter in law- Elaine McKay.

Pallbearers will be Grandsons and Grandsons in-laws. Honorary pallbearers will be Nancy Vaughan, Faye Oswalt, Jane Anderson, Charlene Ferguson, Myra Cox, Suzanne Daffron, Barbara Caldwell, Mary Flagy, Ray Crane, Joan Oswalt, staff of Trinity Personal Care, and staff of Encompass Health.
