Frances Halbert O'Bryant, 95, of Columbus, MS went to be with her Lord on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Pine Place Assisted Living, Arley, AL. Visitation will be Monday, October 12, 2015 from 10:00am-11:00am at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow at 11:00am at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Bro. Steve Lammons officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Mrs. O'Bryant was born August 16, 1920 to James William Halbert and Ola Jewell Halbert in Columbus, MS. She worked as an Assembly Line Worker at United Technologies, where she retired after working for about 27 years. Mrs. O'Bryant was a lifelong member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Her favorite pastimes were reading and doing crossword puzzles. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband-Lewis Edwin O'Bryant; sisters-Marjorie Chatham, Martha Elmore, and Lucille Kendrick; grandchildren-Christopher Spear, Gregory Neighbors, and Jimmy O'Bryant; and son-in-laws-Garry Moody, John Neighbors, and Jack Brooks. She is survived by her daughters-Kathy (Dennis) Woods, Columbus, MS; Hilda (Ferrel) Drummond, Jasper, AL; Geraldine Moody, Gardendale, AL; Peggy Neighbors, Haughton, LA; Barbara (Marcel) McBroom, Fort Bragg, CA; and Ann Brooks, Birmingham, AL; sons-Mark (Marilda) O'Bryant, West Point, MS; John O'Bryant, Jasper, AL; Pete (Mary) O'Bryant, Jasper, AL; Sam (Linda) O'Bryant, Columbus, MS; Jimmy (Betty) O'Bryant, Garland, TX; and David (Margaret) O'Bryant, Columbus, MS; brother-James Halbert, Columbus, MS; 27 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren, and 17 great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Joy Sunday School Class at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Columbus, MS and Staff of Pine Place Assisted Living, Arley, AL.
