Franky Rainey Daniel, Sr., age 83, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018, at his residence.

Visitation was held on Monday, March 26, 2018, from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at New Hope United Methodist Church, Columbus, MS. A funeral service followed on Monday, March 26, 2018, at 3:00 PM at New United Methodist Church with Rev. Sarah Windham officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Daniel was born on November 19, 1934, in Sturgis, MS to the late James Edward and Ruby Louise MaKamson Daniel. He was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church, New Hope, MS and served on numerous boards at the church. Mr. Daniel worked as a pipe fitter for more than 50 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers- Wayne Daniel and Jimmy Daniel.

Mr. Daniel is survived by his wife- Mary Ann Gray Daniel, of Columbus, MS; daughters- Sherry Holt of Tupelo, MS, and Lynn (John) Ingle of Columbus, MS; sons- Danny (Regina) Daniel of Columbus, MS, and Gray (Linda) Daniel of Little Rock, AR; grandchildren- Sonja (Matt) Slancauskas, Jennifer (Jamie) Herbert, Kylie (Will) Hayward, and Caleb (Cassie) Holt; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters- Mary (Jack) Hunnicutt of Collierville, TN, and Bobbye Gray of Prattville, AL.

Pallbearers will be Caleb Holt, Will Hayward, Ethan Hebert, Eli Hebert, Jamie Hebert, and Matt Slancauskas. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Junkin, Dr. Min Kim, Dr. Bart Williams, Staff of Camilla Hospice, Church Family, and Members of Local 714.
