Gail Jackson Norton, 78, of Columbus, MS, passed away Monday, May 5, 2025, at her residence.

Visitation will be Friday, May 9, 2025, from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Service will be Friday, May 9, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS, with Dr. Russell Mord officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery, with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Gail was born August 15, 1946, in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Hurket Jackson and Hazel Strohm White. She was a member of the Class of 1964 Lee High School and New Hope High School.  Gail was also a resident of Clarksdale, MS, and Puckett, MS. She worked at National Bank of Commerce. She also enjoyed working for Coach Jackie Sherrill at Mississippi State University. Also, Gail was a member of Puckett Baptist Church.  Gail loved her family dearly.  She loved hugs and kisses from everyone and being called "Mimi."

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gail is preceded in death by her daughter- Robyn Forrester; siblings- Gwin Jackson and Jeanette Jackson; and brother-in-law- Larry Parker.

Mrs. Gail is survived by her husband- Thomas Norton, Sr.; daughter- Jennifer (Butch) Spidle; sons- Shawn (Christie) Forrester, Thomas James (Sharon)  Norton, II, Chad Norton, and T.J. (Sandra) Norton; grandchildren- Keeton (Tyler) Neal, Katie (Shay) Boyd, Gavin Forrester, Brantley Forrester, Ryan (Monica) Norton, Gage Norton, and Adrienne (Blake) Grantham; 11  great-grandchildren; sister- Jean Parker; brother- Mike (Joyce) Jackson; sister-in-law- Joy Jackson- McMinn (Jim); special friend – Teresa Bramlette of Brandon, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be David Hollowell, Brad Parker, Tyler Neal, Shay Boyd, Gavin Forrester, and Brantley Forrester.  Honorary Pallbearers will be the Nurses and Staff at Baptist Hospice including, but not limited to, Dairia Latham, Laura Jaudon, and Kennika Cobble.
