Gail Thorne, 66, of Steens, MS, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle.

Visitation will be 10:-11:00 AM, Monday, November 21, 2022, at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.  A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel.  The interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Steens, MS, with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Gail was born in Columbus on May 19 ^th, 1956 to the late Roy and Grace Briscoe.  She graduated from Caledonia High School before earning a degree in mechanical drafting.  She worked at United Technologies in the engineering department until the plant closed.  She then worked as the office manager at Thorne Refrigeration until retirement.  During this time, Gail pursued her passion for motorcycles and was known nationwide in the BMW motorcycle community where she logged almost a half million miles.  She twice was awarded the top female rider in North America.  She leaves behind Paul her husband of 38 years and will be missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Thorne is survived by her husband Paul Thorne.
