Gary Stovall, 75, of Columbus, MS, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024, at his residence.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Graveside Service will be Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Crawford Oaklimb Cemetery, Crawford, MS with Pastor Armondo Adams officiating.
Mr. Stovall was born February 3, 1949, in Hart, MI, to the late James Floyd Stovall and Julia Marie Verschueren Stovall. Mr. Stovall attended Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. As a veteran of the United States Air Force, he was a Staff Sergeant and surgery tech. He also spent time in Vietnam and the Philippines while in the Air Force. Mr. Stovall worked as a machinist in maintenance. He was a tool and die maker, cabinet maker, and woodworker. Mr. Stovall loved to fish and hunt. In addition to his parents, Mr. Stovall is preceded in death by his mother-in-law- Maybell Taylor.
Mr. Stovall is survived by his wife- Vicki Taylor Stovall; daughter- Taylor (Tim) Massey; son- Darby (Tina) Stovall; grandchildren- Riley (Kayla)Massey, Bridger (Brittney) Massey, Levi Massey, Kallie (Jake) Pieri, Aaron (Emily) Stovall, Alexis (Tyler Hodnett) Ragsdale, and Brady Ragsdale; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers- Rod (Judy) Stovall, and Mark Stovall; and Father-in-law- Dan Taylor, Sr.
Pallbearers will be- Riley Massey, Bridger Massey, Levi Massey, Aaron Stovall, Jake Pieri, Brady Ragsdale, Scott Stovall, and Randy Stovall. Honorary Pallbearers will be -Sonny Yarbrough, Jimmy Gibson, Dean Outlaw, Beau Taylor, Kenneth Taylor, Matthew Taylor, Dr. Bart Williams, Dr. Horsley, nurses and staff at Columbus VA Clinic.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
