Gaynell Butts Conner, 82 of Columbus, MS, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital, GT in Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Service will be Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home in Columbus, MS, with Rob Dowdle officiating. Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS, is entrusted with all arrangements.

Mrs. Conner was born September 20, 1943, in Neshoba County, Mississippi, to the late George Butts, and Agnes Pinson Butts. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Steens, MS. She enjoyed working on word search puzzles and sudoku puzzles. Mrs. Conner enjoyed working in her yard and maintaining her flowers, especially her roses. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Conner is preceded in death by her husband, James Kermit Conner; son, Chris Conner; brother, Clyde Butts; and sister, Joyce Goforth.

Mrs. Conner is survived by her daughter, Amy York; grandchild, Ashley Pounders; 3 great grandchildren; sister, Lois Huffmaster; and friends- Debbie Campbell and Linda McKenzie.
