George Andrew "Andy" Fant, 73, of Columbus, MS, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital, GT in Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. at First Christian Church in Columbus, MS. Service will be Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at First Christian Church in Columbus, MS.

Andy was born July 27, 1951, in Marianna, Arkansas to the late Julius Terry "Skeeter" Fant, Sr. and Virginia Joy Mixon Fant.  He was a carpenter for many years. Andy was also an accomplished singer and musician - playing the bass, harmonica, and guitar. In addition to his parents, Andy is preceded in death by his brother, Julius Terry Fan, Jr. ; sister, Christine Fant; and step grandchild, Jimmy Ray Handley.

Andy is survived by his wife- Alice Shockley Fant; sons- Jewell Cody Fant, and Julius Bryan Fant; grandchildren- Brianna Fant, David Lester, Danielle Lester; step children- Erin Handley, and Woody Cantrell; step grandchildren- Felicity Hamby, and Tanya (Amedeo) Pellino; step great grandchildren- Avery Hamby, Emery Merritt, Andres Cabellero, Emelia Cabellero, Michele Pellino, and Celestina Pellino; and numerous of nieces and nephews, and numerous kids who thought of him as a grandparent.
