George Edward "Ed" Doughty, 76, of Columbus, MS passed away Monday, March 14, 2016, at North Mississippi Medical Center, Tupelo, MS.

A visitation will be Wednesday, March 16, 2016, from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Graveside services will follow at 4:00 PM with Dr. Bill Hurt officiating at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, Millport, AL.

Mr. Doughty was born February 9, 1940, to the late George Edward, Sr. and Eugene Norris Doughty. He was the manager for Wholesale Electric Company, and he was a member of First Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife-Dorothy Sudduth Doughty; and brothers-Dan Doughty and Frank Doughty.

Mr. Doughty is survived by sons-Jeff (Anne) Doughty, Easley, SC and Mike Doughty, Destin, FL; daughters-Marisa (Matt) Eller, Crawford, MS and Tracy Rollins, Columbus, MS; grandchildren-Jarrett Eller, Cole Eller, Kendyl Rollins, Cade Rollins, Lauren Doughty, Ryan Doughty; brothers-Richard (Vivian) Doughty, Tommy (Dawn) Doughty and Joe (Cheryl) Doughty; and sister-Sarah (John) Koehler.
