George Edward Finch, Jr. George Edward Finch, Jr., 84 of Columbus, MS passed away, Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS. Visitation for Mr. Finch will be Tuesday, May 29, 2012 from 1 – 2 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 3 PM at New Hope United Methodist Church, Columbus, MS with Chaplain Kathy Ramos officiating and Bro. Inge Halbert assisting. Interment will be in Friendship Cemetery, Columbus, MS at a later date. Mr. Finch was born April 18, 1928 to the late George E. & Vera May Slawson Finch, Sr. in Macon, MS. He lived in Columbus for the past 11 years having moved from Clawson, MI. Mr. Finch attended New Hope United Methodist Church; Columbus, MS was a life member of the Royal Oak Masonic Lodge #464, Madison Heights, MI and the Moslem Shrine Temple, Detroit, MI. Mr. Finch was self-employed for 33 years as the owner of George's Window Cleaners in Clawson, MI; he loved hunting, fishing and gardening. In addition to his parents, Mr. Finch was preceded in death by his sister – Helen Tinsley and brother – James Finch. Mr. Finch is survived by his wife of 58 years – Arbutus Gladys Finch, Columbus, MS, daughter – Kathy Lynn (Ruben) Ramos, Farmington Hills, MI, sons – James Carl (Linda) Finch, Clawson, MI and Mark E. (Terri) Finch, Rochester Hills, MI, brothers – Robert Finch, Chuck Finch and Al Finch all of Columbus, MS, sisters – Geraldine Macklin, Mt. Morris, IL, Fran Adams, Columbus, MS, Geneva Wright, Columbus, MS and Cherry Neely, Oblong, IL, Grandchildren – Adam Finch, Jason Finch, Derek Finch, Chris Fabry, Jessica Finch, Justin Ramos, Jordan Ramos, Brittany Ramos and 9 great-grandchildren. Honorary Pallbearers will be Adam Finch, Jason Finch, Derek Finch, Chris Fabry, Justin Ramos, and Jordan Ramos.
