Georgia Mae Whitten, 87, of Columbus, MS passed away February 8, 2022, at Trinity Healthcare in Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Friday, February 11, 2022, from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.  Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tommy Gillon and Bro. Sammy Crawford officiating.  Interment will be at Mt. Vernon Cemetery with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Whitten was born October 25, 1934, in Monroe County, MS to the late Thomas Berry and Ollie Rae Sanders Berry.  She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Columbus, MS,  and was active in her church and missions and enjoyed cooking.   Mrs. Whitten worked for the National Bank of Commerce as a Teller for 20 years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Whitten is preceded in death by her husband- Shaden Wilson Whitten; two brothers- Clarence Berry and Cecil Berry and sister- Carol Berry.

Mrs. Whitten is survived by her son- Michael Whitten; sister- Verbie (Melvin) Box; three brothers- Harold (Hilda) Berry, Reuben (Jerrie) Berry, and Travis (Janie) Berry.

Family will serve as pallbearers.
