Obituary

Glenn B. Vann, 71, of Vernon, AL, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2019 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. A graveside service with military honors will be announced at a later date.

Mr. Vann was born May 13, 1948 in Columbus, MS, to the late Monroe Vann and Lettie Spencer Vann Taylor. Mr. Vann served in the US Army from 1969-1973 having been honored with the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Expert Badge (4-14 Rifle). Holding the Native American Indians close to his heart, he would travel out west to visit the reservations often. He loved to write songs and play the guitar, as well as watch Westerns on TV.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by: sisters Bonnie Vann, Lois Vann Groves and Margaret Vann Scrivner; brothers Hubert Vann, Sam Vann, James Vann, Lee Vann, Mike Vann and Tony Vann.

He is survived by: sisters Sherry Phebus, Donna Moses and Lori Dawkins; brothers Scott Vann and Johnny Vann; his special friend Fay Taylor; and a Host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
