Gloria Jane Butler, 62, of Columbus, MS passed away Monday,  January 6, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 9, 2020, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Chapel with Bro. Kenny Garnder officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Butler was born July 14, 1957, in Guin, AL to the Virginia Colburn and the late Lee Roy Vaughn. Mrs. Butler graduated from Marion County High School in 1976. She enjoyed horseback riding on TN Walking Horses and she had a passion for horses. She also competed in horse shows and later enjoyed trail riding. She did security at Baptist and then was a police officer at Mississippi University for Women.  Mrs. Butler was a loving mother and grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.  She was a beloved wife to the late Randall Butler.

Mrs. Butler is survived by her son- Anthony "Tony" Bulter of Columbus, MS; daughter- Melanie Butler of Columbus, MS; grandchildren- Alexander Johnson and Mya Taylor; mother- Virginia Colburn  Vaughn; two sisters- Glenda Vaughn and Dianne (Donnie) Pearson; and brother- Randall (Kim) Vaughn.
