Gordon Corkern, 68 of Weir, MS passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS.

Mr. Corkern was born May 3, 1948 in Bogalusa, LA to the late Virgil and Alberta Carpenter Corkern.  He was a veteran and heavy equipment supervisor with Reliant Energy for 27 years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Corkern was preceded in death by his sister – Gwen Ewell and brother – Gary Corkern.

Mr. Corkern is survived by his wife – Shara Smith Corkern, Weir, MS; son – Micha (Contessa) Corkern, Plano, TX; step-children – Billy Wayne Kuhn, Canton, MS and Christy Oliver, Winona, MS; brother – Virgil Glenn (Sandra) Corkern, Teague, TX and 7 grandchildren.
