Gracie Lee Jaynes Sabinson, 87 of Columbus, MS passed away Thursday, June 11, 2020, at her residence.

A funeral service will be Saturday, June 13, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS with Bro. Jerry Wallace officiating.  Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Columbus, MS.

Mrs. Sabinson was born February 27, 1933, to the late Thomas Henry and Lady Grace Harris Jaynes in Pickens County, AL.  She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed the fellowship once a month with her friends at First United Methodist Church.  Mrs. Sabinson graduated from Liberty School, Liberty, AL.  She was a member of the Home Demonstration Club and AARP.  Mrs. Sabinson retired in 1996 from United Technologies where she was employed for 41 years and 3 months. She enjoyed playing cards and was an avid reader.  Mrs. Sabinson loved working in her yard.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sabinson was preceded in death by her husband – Carlos Sabinson, sister – Martha Virginia "Jenny" Mahoney and brother – Thomas E. Jaynes, Columbus, MS.

Mrs. Sabinson is survived by her daughter – Nancy (Darryl) Upton, Columbus, MS; son – Billy D. (Elsie) Johnson, Columbus, MS; sister – Paralee Tilley, Ethelsville, AL; grandchildren – Linsey Upton, Jake Upton, Crystal (Van) Yates, Dusty Johnson, Amy Johnson, Daral Johnson; great-grandchild – Wynter Rayne Upton; niece – Katie "Tootie" Ward.

Pallbearers will Gerald Tilley, Charles Tilley, Randy Abrams, Jeff Abrams, Darryl Upton, and Jake Upton.  Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Sabinson's Sunday School Class at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and the Hardee's Breakfast Club.
