Gregory Calvin Cox, 61, of Columbus, MS passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Baptist Memorial Hospital- GT in Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Sammy Crawford officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing.

Mr. Cox was born November 21, 1955 in Roswell, New Mexico to the late Hubert Wayne and Delores Ladner Cox. He was a graduate of 1975 Caldwell High School, received an Associates degree from Clarke College, Newton, MS and attended Mississippi State University.  Although, he had Cerebral Palsy and faced many difficulties, Mr. Cox operated a truck rental business across from Prospt Park for many years. Mr. Cox loved his grandchildren, enjoyed making people laugh, and watching MSU football and the Dallas Cowboys.

Mr. Cox is survived by his daughters- Jessica Cox and Rebecca Cox of Columbus, MS, Brandy Yarbrough of San Angelo, TX; grandchildren- Amiee Cox, Braedyn Cox, Haedyn Cox, Rylee Cox, Avah Cox, Bentlee Baucom, Caleb Flores; sister- Diane (Onala) Atala; and brother- Mike (Gaye) Cox.

Pallbearers will be Matt Cox, Ben Cox, Jesse Cox, Davie Jackson, Casey Williams, Marquis Moore. Honorary Pallbearers will be Josh Cox, Jonathon Cox, Levi Cox, Tommy Johnsey, Johnny Brooks, Mark Flores, Bud Turnage, David Jackson, , Jennifer Atala.
