Harold Lewis Barnhill

Harold Lewis Barnhill, 76 of Columbus, MS, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at his residence.

Due to his request, there will be no service. Lowndes Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

Mr. Barnhill was born November 1, 1949, in Metairie, LA, to the late Hubert & Bettye Anders Barnhill, Sr. He was a 1969 graduate of S.D. Lee High School, and was a veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Barnhill was a welder and was employed at Ceco, Columbus, MS, and Babcock and Wilcox, West Point, MS. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS, and an avid Mississippi State fan and loved to watch sports. In addition to his parents, Mr. Barnhill was preceded in death by his brother, Henry Barnhill, and daughter, Haley Barnhill.

Mr. Barnhill is survived by his wife, Gail Brown Barnhill; grandchildren – Tyson Talley and Makiya Barnhill; brothers – Hubert Barnhill, Jr., Harry (Joan) Barnhill; sisters – Patsy (Gary) Hedrick, Vicky (Bennie) Williamon, and Barbara (Bily) Buxton; numerous nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in -law.
