Harriet J. Brown Vaughn 75, of Columbus, MS, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at her residence.

Visitation will be Monday, September 25, 2023, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Yorkville Heights Church, Columbus, MS. Funeral Service will be Monday, September 25, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Yorkville Heights, Columbus, MS with Bro. Danny Browning officiating. Interment will be at Furnace Hill Cemetery, Vernon, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Vaughn was born May 20, 1948, to the late Mary Nell Swinney Brown and Rushton L. Brown.  Mrs. Vauhn graduated from Jacksonville State University with a degree in Home Economics. Mrs. Vaughn was a Social Worker for the State of Alabama for many years. She was a member of The Heights. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, gardening, and making ceramics.

Mrs. Vaughn is survived by her husband- Thomas Vaughn; sons- Bret (Allison) Magness, and Thomas  (Rhnea) Vaughn; daughters- Leigh Ann (Zachary) Friedrich, and Sarah (Joe) Rogers; grandchildren- Ava Magness, Reed Magness, Ruby Magness, Stella Baylis, Isaac Baylis, Alexandra Popelukhin, Christian Rogers, Mason Vaughn, and Jordan Vaughn; and one brother – Ronald (Jeanette) Brown.
