Harry Huger Houston, III, DDS, 74 of Columbus, MS passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 6, 2022, from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jonathan Blackburn officiating.
Dr. Houston was born April 19, 1947, to the late Harry Huger Houston, II, and Madeline Brooks Houston in Knoxville, TN. He was a dentist for 50 years, and last practiced with Magnolia Family Dentistry. Dr. Houston graduated from Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, CA. He was a member of the American Society of Forensic Odontologists, the American Academy of Forensic Science, and the American Dental Association. Dr. Houston was an author of the book "Manner of Death Undetermined". He was a great storyteller, enjoyed snow skiing, and playing the guitar in his bands, Austin and the Houston's and Lighten Up. Dr. Houston was also a Kung Fu San Soo instructor.
In addition to his parents, Dr. Houston was preceded in death by his daughter – Charity Dale Houston; brother – Dean Brooks Houston, and step-mom – Mary Etta King Houston.
Dr. Houston is survived by his wife – Linda Lou St. Clair Houston, Columbus, MS; sons – Dundee Michael (Christina) Houston, Springhill, TN, and Samuel Quincy Houston, Reno, NV; daughter – Margeaux Victoria Houston (Ben) Fredrickson, Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren – Julian Houston, Madalyn Houston, and Hayden Houston.
