Hazel Baker, 74, of Columbus, MS passed away Friday, January 2, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - GT. Visitation immediately followed by services will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2015 from 4 - 6 PM at Woodland Baptist Church on North Ridge Road, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Baker was a lifelong resident of Columbus and Lowndes County. She loved her husband, children, and grandchildren; she enjoyed needlecrafts and her family; she was a wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Baker is survived by: husband - Bolt Frank Baker, Columbus, MS; brother - Murdell Baswell, Grenada, MS; brother-n-law- Dewey Baker, Columbus, MS; children- Danny(Debbie)Baker of Columbus, MS; Debra(Wade)Umfress of Fulton MS; Frank(Tracey)Baker of Steens, MS; Kathy(Charles)Cribb of Greenville SC; grandchildren: Scott Daniel Baker, Trey Umfress, Sam Baker, Nichole Hickey, Joshua Crittenden, Jennifer Bowers; great grandchildren - Emma Hickey, and Bentley Hornbaker. Pallbearers will be Brian Hickey, Travis Berry, Jamie Simpson, Larry Duncan, Jimmy Baswell, and Sam Beatty. The honorary pallbearer will be Ryan Baswell.
