Hazel Nell Rye Gilmore, age 83, of Columbus, MS passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018, from 1:00-3:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at 3:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Robert Moore officiating. Interment will be at Friendship Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Gilmore was born on May 15, 1934, in Lamar County, AL to the late Bradley Rye and Ellen Williams Rye. She was a 1953 graduate of S.D. Lee High School, Columbus, MS. Mrs. Gilmore was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Mrs. Gilmore is survived by her husband of 64 years- Royce Eldon Gilmore of Columbus, MS; daughter- Cathy Lindsay; son- Ricky (Jeanette) Gilmore; grandchildren- Jon (Elisabeth) Lindsay, Brian (Molly) Lindsay, and Bradley Gilmore; great-grandchildren- Cal Lindsay, Lexi Gilmore, and Aleaha Gilmore; and one sister- Janina (Robbie) Wilson.

Pallbearers will be Jon Lindsay, Brian Lindsay, Jeremy Yarbrough, Robert Malone, Charles Slayton, and Keith Simpson. Honorary pallbearers will be the Staff of Baptist Hospice.
