Sign/View Guestbook Helen Doris Conn, 87 passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT, Columbus, MS. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 17, 2013 from 10-11 am at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral services will follow at 11 am with Rev. Diane Lemmon officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Conn was born December 20, 1925 in Lamar County, Alabama to the late Floyd Clifton and Maggie Lee Hydrick Stripling. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Conn liked to sew, making antebellum doll dresses. She loved to paint, cook , mow her yard and work in her flowers. Mrs. Conn loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband- Choice L. Conn and a brother-Floyd Edward Stripling. Mrs. Conn is survived by daughters- Doris (Thad) Moody, Ethelsville, AL and Linda (Dennis) Patrick, Columbus, MS; sons- Ronald Conn, Columbus, MS, Harold (Peggy) Conn, Largo, FL and Jerry (Mary) Conn, Columbus, MS; grandchildren- Paige Whitten, Jill (Simon) Storer, Heather (Lee) Milam, Tony (Leah) Gray, Courtney (De Lane) Patrick, Kenneth Conn, Rodney Conn, Brandi Conn and Brittany Conn and 7 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Simon Storer, Lee Milam, Tony Gray, Cliff Gray, Ted Conn and Rodney Godfrey. Honorary pallbearers will be Barney Conn, Jack Conn, Joe Ables, Cecil Sanders, Troy Whitten, Jr., Herbert Junkin, Courtney Patrick, James Godfrey, Gary Stripling and Deborah Hudson, Kenneth Conn and Rodney Conn.
