Helen Ruffin Helen Ruffin, 69 of Columbus, MS passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT, Columbus, MS. Visitation will be Thursday, July 12, 2012 from 6 til 8 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be Friday, July 13, 2012 at 2 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel, Columbus, MS with Bro. Ron Delgado officiating and Bro. Nick Cannady assisting. Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Ruffin was born August 17, 1942 in Union, MS to the late Jessie Dorris and Lillie Mae Gardner Reeves. She was a member of Evangel Church, Columbus, MS and was of the Assembly of God faith. She retired in 2002 from Heilig Meyers Furniture. Mrs. Ruffin worked in the furniture business for over thirty years in sales. She was a native of Lowndes County for sixty three years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ruffin is also preceded in death by her husband of forty three years, James Edgar Ruffin, brothers-Alton Allen and Thomas Jerry Reeves. Mrs. Ruffin is survived by daughters-Deborah Ruffin (Richard)Christopher and Angela Ruffin (John) Teague both of Columbus, MS, sisters-Joan R. (Hildon) McCullough, Columbus, MS, Pamela R. Wright, Panama City, FL, grandchildren-Richard Marion Christopher IV, Chelsey Lynn Haney, William Clark Teague, niece-Cindy Dodson, nephew, Mitchell McCullough, God niece-Destiny Shay. Pallbearers will be Mitch McCullough, Rick Dodson, Shay Dodson, Jack Thomas, Dave Forstner, and John Ledbetter.
