Henry Latham Elmore, 81, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2019, at Starkville Manor Nursing Home in Starkville. A Memorial Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, at 2:00PM from Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Columbus. Lowndes Funeral Home and Crematory is honored to be entrusted with final arrangements.
Mr. Elmore was born December 12, 1937, in Columbus, MS, to the late Latham F. and Audice P. Elmore. He married, the former Doris Allen, October 26, 1956. He retired from AT&T after many years, working as a Supervisor. After his retirement he enjoyed being self-employed where he owned and operated Elmore Equipment Company, selling used tractors, trailers and equipment. He also enjoyed travelling, camping and was a devoted Ole Miss Rebels fan. Above all else Mr. Elmore loved his family, he was a devoted husband, father and cherished his time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, wearing his title of "Paw Paw" as a badge of honor.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Elmore is survived by his wife of 63 years Doris Elmore; son Steve (Sherry) Elmore of Tupelo; daughter Sherry Weseli of Columbus; five grandchildren: Stephenie (Barrett) Brady, Alison (Ryan) Mitchell, Jake (Jessica) Weseli, Brooke (Andrew) Gordon, and Brody (Rachel) Weseli; and six great grandchildren: Posey and John Barrett "J.B." Brady, Cal Mitchell, Wes Gordon, Hayden Weseli and Henry Weseli.
The family asks that Memorial Donations be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
