Henry L. Morgan, aged 87, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at his home. Funeral Services for Mr. Morgan will be Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Lowndes Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Wes Jones officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. The interment will immediately follow at Friendship Cemetery. Mr. Morgan was born to the late Marion Doris and Della Arizona Richardson Morgan on October 25, 1926 in Pickens County, AL. Mr. Morgan was a master mechanic. He owned and operated Town Auto Service for over 40 years, where he was well known for his meticulous attention to detail and superior service. Even after his retirement, he continued to tinker with repairing cars, often making a diagnosis just by listening to the engine run. Mr. Morgan loved nothing more than singing Southern Gospel music. He entertained so many while singing in several different quartets through the years, most often with the Old Timers Quartet. Anyone who has ever had the pleasure of hearing him sing bass will never forget it. He was a devout Christian and a long-time member of First Church of the Nazarene. Most recently, he attended Community Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Mary Lucille Morgan; sons, George Wayne Morgan and Roger Allen Morgan and two brothers. He is survived by his son, Henry "Squirrel" Morgan and wife, Cindy; daughter, Martha David and husband, Paul S., both of Columbus, MS; grandchildren, Chris David and wife, Jennifer of Meridian, MS; Eric David; Carrie Baucom and husband, Jamie; and Joe Morgan, all of Columbus, MS; Jason Morgan and fiancé, Nikki Wright of Starkville, MS; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Linda Faye Raperto of Trenton, FL; and brother, Harold Morgan of Wetumpka, AL. Pallbearers are Chris David, Eric David, Joe Morgan, Jason Morgan, Jamie Baucom, Dustin David and Bob Taylor. Honorary pallbearers are Ed Sprouse, Billy Crossley, Dr. Doyle Sumrall and staff, Dr. Mike Boland and staff, Bill and Doris Atkins, Larry Braddock, Tom Cooper, A.J.
