Larry Hubert Perkins, 79 of Steens, MS passed away Monday, September 2, 2024, at his residence.

A visitation for Mr. Perkins will be Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 11:00 – 1:00 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Columbus, MS.  A memorial service will be at 1:00 PM with Pastor Andy Tentoni officiating.  A private graveside service at Mt. Zion Cemetery will follow with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Perkins was born October 26, 1944, in Vernon, AL to the late Paris L. Perkins and Glenda Hester Perkins. He retired from Omnova where he was a supervisor.  Mr. Perkins was a member of Piney Grove UMC, Steens, MS.  He enjoyed crappie fishing, and golfing and loved Alabama football.  Mr. Perkins enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports and being a deacon and Sunday School teacher.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Perkins was preceded in death by his wife – Cora Perkins, and grandchild – Katelyn Ray.

Mr. Perkins is survived by his wife – Kay Odom Perkins; daughter – Tammy (Calvin) Ray; son – Jeffrey (Jannel) Perkins; grandchildren – Lance Perkins, Laura Perkins, Chelsey (John) Smith, Lauren (Brandon) Moore; and 3 great-grandchildren.
