Betty Irene Hankins, 89, of Aliceville, AL passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017, at Aliceville Manor, Aliceville, AL.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 7, 2017, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at Carrollton Baptist Church, Carrollton, AL. A funeral service will follow Thursday, September 7, 2017, at 2:00 PM at Carrollton Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Winders officiating and Bro. Wes Jones assisting. Interment will be at Carrollton City Cemetery with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Hankins was born August 15, 1928, in Fulton, MS to the late James Morgan and Helen Iown Honnoll Eads. She enjoyed working in her flowers beds and she also loved her Golden Circle Sunday School Class. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hankins was preceded in death by her husband- James Earl Hankins, her brothers- Earl Ray Eads, Woodie Eads, Roy Eads, and Melvin Eads, and her sisters- Ethelene Pace, and Beatrice Akin.

Mrs. Hankins is survived by her daughter- Sherry (John) McGee of Carrollton, AL; sons- Donnie (Fran) Hankins of Northport, AL, and Kenny (Celeste) Hankins of Aliceville, AL; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother- Herbert Eads; and sisters- Marie Wallace, and Lavell Bennett.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Annie Young, Aliceville Manor Nursing Home, and Dr. Dale Robbins.
