Jack Cline Conn, 70 of Ethelsville, AL passed away Monday, December 22, 2014 at his residence. Visitation will be Saturday, December 27,2014 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mel Howton and Bro. Jimmy Ray officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mr. Conn was born July 18, 1944 in Steens, MS to the late William Russell and Lura Cline Conn. He worked for Conn Construction as a Superintendent having worked in construction for 49 years. Mr. Conn graduated from New Hope High School in 1962 and was voted Mr. New Hope his senior year. He served in the U.S. Army for 6 years having served in the Vietnam War. Mr. Conn was a lifetime member of the VFW, Steens Community Center and was voted an honorary member of Palmetto Volunteer Fire Department. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by brothers-James Conn, Willard Conn and Louis Conn; grandchildren-Madison Orr and Morgan Orr. Mr. Conn is survived by his wife-Betty Jones Conn, Ethelsville, AL; former wife-Ellen Dean Conn, Ethelsville, AL; daughter-Jackie (Tommy) Orr; son- Jeff (Natasha) Conn, step children- Lisa (Eddy) Godfrey, Debra (Johnny) Crimm, Tami (David) Parker and Jack Speed, Jr.; grandchildren- Mason Orr, Makenzie Conn and Macy Conn; sisters-Mary Shepherd, Virginia Humphries, Betty Clardy, Bobbie (Bert) Chain; brothers-Ted (Faye) Conn and Barney (Karen) Conn. Pallbearers will be Ricky Ponds, Roy Baker, Eddy Godfrey, David Parker, Charles Patterson and Stewart Conn. Honorary Pallbearers will be Raybon Blanton, Claude Carter, Will Godfrey, Doug Collum, Frank Collum, Jody Sudduth, Bill Davis, Johnny Crimm and Employees and Former Employees of Conn Construction. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Forest Volunteer Fire Department and the Palmetto Volunteer Fire Department.
