Jack Benny Smith, 70, of Columbus, MS passed away Sunday, August 29, 2021, at North Mississippi Medical Center-Eupora.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 2, 2021, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will be Friday, September 3, 2021, at 3:00 PM at West Point Church of God with Bro. Al Stockton officiating and Bro. Jesse Strider assisting. Interment will be Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS.

Mr. Smith was born on September 6, 1950, in Steens, MS to the late John Selmer Smith and Flornie Pearl Miller. He was a member of West Point Church of God and he also attended West Eupora Church of God with his children and grandchildren when he could. Mr. Smith served in the United States Army and was a Commercial Roofer for over 20 years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his brother- Stennis Smith.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 49 years- Kathey Shelton Smith of Columbus, MS; son- Jackie (Toni) Smith of Nettleton, MS, daughters- Kimberly (Matthew) Brown of Eupora, MS and Kelley (Jesse) Strider of Eupora, MS; grandchildren- Taylor Smith, Tyler Smith, Drake Clements, Logan Clements, Brooklynn Strider, Jynnifer Strider, Payton Clements, Tyler Strider, Taylor Strider, Jackson Clements, Matthew Strider, and Charlee Wade Brown; great-grandchild- Avery Cooper; siblings- Lloyd ( Juanita) Smith of Columbus, MS, J.C. Smith of Columbus, MS, Louise McCollum of Starkville, MS, and Helen Henderson of Columbus, MS.

Pallbearers will be Lee Calvert, Heath Beard, Herman Junkin, Jr., Shannon Sikles, Mark Cox, Tony Shelton, Michael Shelton, and John McDonald. Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Smith, Drake Clements, and Logan Clements.

Memorials may be made to the West Point Church of God or West Eupora Church of God.
