Jackie Dunn Mouchett, 88, of Caledonia, MS, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024, at his home in Caledonia, MS.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 25, 2024, from 1:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Service will be Thursday, July 25, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS, with Bro David Westmoreland, Bro. P.J. Mortensen, and Bro. Taylor Chisolm officiating. Burial will be at Ebenezer Cemetery in Millport, Alabama with Lowndes Funeral Home officiating.
Jackie was born on November 3, 1935, in Millport, Alabama, to the late Maude Dunn Mouchett and Charlie Carroll Mouchett. He was a veteran with 22 years of service in the US Air Force. Jackie was a retiree of Lowndes County Road Department, District III. He was an instructor at the Golden Triangle Vo-Tech Center as a heavy equipment operator. Jackie loved to hunt, and garden and was devoted to Alabama Football and the Atlanta Braves. In addition to his parents, Jackie is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Carrell and Maude Dunn Mouchett; sisters- Mary Kate Williams, Gladys Patterson, and Nannie Mae Mouchett; brothers- Clyde and Standley Mouchett; grandson – Aaron Vanorman.
Jackie is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Joan Brackin Mouchett; children- Phyllis Mouchett of Moss Point, MS, Arlene Salazar (John) of Pueblo, Co.; Diane Vanorman (Tim) of Omaha, NE, Jamie Mouchett; step-son- Darryl Hood, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be – Dennis and Mike Brackin, Jeremy Marshall, Terry Lee, Tyler Brown, and Caleb Payne. Honorary Pallbearers will be Shane Petty, Glenn Williams, and J.A. Williams.
