Obituary

Jacqueline Joyce Pulver Thurlow, 85, of Columbus, MS, passed away at West Florida Hospital.  She was born Aug 10, 1930, to Beatrice Elzina Holden Pulver and Ora Lewis Pulver.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Alan F. Thurlow, both parents and a brother, Gale Ora Pulver.  Her grandparents were Josie Lewis Pulver and Bert Pulver, Charles F. Holden and Mildred Vance Holden.  She is survived by a daughter, Gaye Thurlow Cox (Michael) and a son, David P. Thurlow (Lania), 6 grandsons: Matthew S. Cox (Megan) and 3 children, Benjamin C. Cox (Sara) and 3 children, Jesse L. Cox (Vivian) and 2 children, Joshua M. Cox (Erin) and 1 child, Jonathan G. Cox and Levi D. Cox.

Jackie was an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Columbus.  She graduated from Corning Free Academy, Corning, New York, Syracuse University (BA) in 1952, and Mississippi State College for Women (MS) in 1970.  She was a retired Speech/Language Pathologist in the Columbus Public Schools and the Columbus Rehabilitation Center.  She was a member of Alpha Xi Delta, social sorority, and Sigma Alpha Iota, Speech and Hearing honorary.

Jackie and Al were married 63 years and he passed just a little over 3 weeks prior to her passing. The family is grateful for the many years and many precious friends and acquaintances that have been such a valued part of their lives.  They request that in lieu of flowers, a donation in her name be made to a ministry close to your hearts.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 5 at 3:30 pm at Wesley United Methodist Church, 511 Airline Rd. Columbus, MS  39702.
