Jake "Billy" O'Barr, Jr.  87 of Columbus, MS passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018, at Methodist University Hospital,  Olive Branch, MS.

A visitation will be Wednesday, November 28, 2018, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.

Mr. O'Barr was born July 9, 1931, to the late Jake and Ethel Davis O'Barr, Sr. in Houston, MS.  He was a 1950 graduate of Okolona High School.  Mr. O'Barr was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served during the Korean War.  He was a member of Arbor Grove Baptist Church, Houston, MS.  Mr. O'Barr was the owner/operator of O'Barr's Trucking for 30 years.  In addition to his parents, Mr. O'Barr was preceded in death by his sister – Clarice Blaylock.

Mr. O'Barr is survived by his wife  – Janette Atkins O'Barr, Columbus, MS; daughter – Tammy (Jim Garth) Horn, Vilonia, AR; son – Johnny (Amy) Sansing, Houston, MS; grandchildren – Emily (Josh) Gusewelle, Megan (Dustin) Smith, Lindsey (Sean) Talbert of Vilonia, AR and Cody Sansing, Houston, MS; great-grandchildren – Preston, Grayson, Matlee, Madison, Kadin and Chandler; and a host nieces and nephews.
