James Linsey Duplechain, 79 of Steens, MS passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016, at Windsor Place, Columbus, MS.
A Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at 2:30 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel, Columbus, MS with Bro. Mel Howton officiating. Interment will be in Egger Cemetery, Caledonia, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Duplechain was born February 9, 1936, to the late Tansy and Beulah Duplechain in Mammoo, LA and moved to Columbus, MS in 1970 from Topeka, KS. He was a retired Senior Aircraft Technician with the United States Air Force where he served for 22 years. Mr. Duplechain was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal on August 26, 1966, and the Bronze Star on October 7, 1966. He was an avid horseman and a member of the American Quarter Horse Association, Blue Ridge Riding Club, Columbus Riding Club and CAFB Riding Club. He also was a member of American Field Trials and he loved to bird hunt and train bird dogs. In addition to his parents, Mr. Duplechain was preceded in death by his daughter – Nadine Duplechain and son-in-law – Gregory Scott Keasler; and 4 sisters.
Mr. Duplechain is survived by his daughters – Debbie Duplechain Keasler, Kennedy, AL and Lisa (Michael) Smith, Steens, MS; sons – Kenneth James (Suzann) Duplechain, Pensacola, FL and David Duplechain, Columbus, MS; 2 sisters; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Corey Duplechain, Chase Smith, Garrett West, Will Glenn, Cody Smith and Michael Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Madison, "Bird Dog", Wade Pardue and John Dickinson.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choosing.
