James Melvin Eads, 72, of Columbus, MS passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015 at his residence. Visitation will be Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 PM with Bro. James Gardner officiating and Bro. Russell Brown assisting. Interment will be in Eastview Church Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mr. Eads was born September 5, 1942 in West Point, MS to the late James Morgan and Helen Iown Honnell Eads and has lived in the Golden Triangle area his entire life. He worked as a Heating and Cooling Installer for over 40 years. Mr. Eads was a member of Eastview Church where he was a deacon and loved reading his bible. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an animal lover. In addition to his parents, Mr. Eads was preceded in death by his sisters - Beatrice Akin and Ethelene Pace; brothers - Earl Ray Eads, James Woody Eads and Roy C. Eads. Mr. Eads is survived by his wife of 52 ½ years Mary Joyce Harris Eads, Columbus, MS; sons - Junior (Diane) Eads, Columbus, MS and Mitch (Joy) Eads, Columbus, MS; sisters - Irene (James Earl) Hankins, Marie Wallace and Lavel Bennett; brother - Herbert Eads and grandchild - Lantz Eads. Pallbearers will be Chris Eads, Shane Eads, Andy Williamson, Greg Fleming, Scott Harris, Jeff Harris, Wade Beard and Scott Andrews.
