James Earle "Gabe" Gable, 68, of Columbus, MS passed away Thursday, March 25, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT.
Visitation will be Monday, March 29, 2021, from 1:30-3:00 PM at Fairview Baptist Church. A service will follow at 3:00 PM with Bro. Breck Ladd officiating and Bro. Sammy Crawford assisting. Interment will be in Friendship Cemetery with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing.
Mr. Gable was born on August 29, 1952, in Vardaman, MS to the late Mary Edith Gable and James (Jack) Orr Gable. Mr. Gable was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, he served as a deacon, was in the choir and was also a Sunday School Teacher. He was also a member of Gideon's International. Mr. Gable enjoyed playing golf, chess and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member and past President of the MS Pharmacy Association. Mr. Gable co-owned Southern Drugs for many years and was a student preceptor for the Ole Miss Pharmacy School. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gable is preceded in death by his brother- Jim Williams.
Mr. Gable is survived by his wife- Paula Everett Gable of Columbus, MS; children- Leslie G. (Michael) Maness of Kansas City, KS, Robert C. (Kelly) Gable of Columbus, MS, Emily G. (John) Castle of Amory, MS, and Jacob E. (Katie) Gable of Brandon, MS; grandchildren- Evan Castle, Elizabeth Gable, Laurel Gable, JP Maness, Peyton Castle, and Gus Gable; sisters-in-laws- Clarice Williams, and Lori E. Wright; nieces- Anna (Terry) Martz and Madeline Wright; nephew-Austin Wright and great-nephews - Nathan (Laura Emma) Martz and Will Martz.
Pallbearers will be Winfred Sanderson, Kin Seto, Doug Murrah, Ken Aldridge, Gene Coleman, Hank Norwood, Lonnie Hicks, and Nathan Martz. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Gillis, James Gable Sunday School Class, Present and former co-workers, and golfing buddies.

Fairview Baptist Church is currently a vaccination site for COVID-19 vaccinations and many vehicles will be on the church property when you arrive. Funeral service attendees need to turn on flashers when entering church property. Turning on your flashers when entering church property will alert the National Guard that you are a funeral attendee and they will instruct you where to park.
