James Vick Gibson, 67 of Columbus, MS passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at his residence.

A  memorial service will be held Friday, July 29, 2016 at 3:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Clark Richardson officiating and Bro. Bobby Richardson assisting.

Mr. Gibson was born May 10, 1949 to the late James Homer and Sarah Vick Gibson in Columbus, MS and lived in Columbus his entire life.  He was a veteran of the United States Army and was presently employed with United Produce as a sales route man for the past   10 years.  Mr. Gibson loved watching sports especially Ole Miss and the Atlanta Braves and enjoyed going fishing.  He was of the Christian faith.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Gibson was preceded in death by his sister – Nancy Gerhart.

Mr. Gibson is survived by his wife of 42 years – Ruth Robinson Gibson, Columbus, MS; daughters – Kelly R. (Danny) Loyd and Sara F. Gibson both of Columbus, MS; sister – Betty Adair, Columbus, MS; grandchildren – Collin W. Loyd, Rylinn Loyd and Alanna Loyd.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Michael Duckworth and the staff of Golden Triangle Hospice.
