James R. Hutcherson, Jr., 71, of Ethelsville, AL, passed away on February 4, 2025 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – GT in Columbus, MS.

The visitation will be Friday, February 7, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.  The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Stewart Vail officiating.  Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS.  Lowndes Funeral Home entrusted with all arrangements.

Mr. Hutcherson was born on September 8, 1953 in New Orleans, LA to the late James R. Hutcherson, Sr. and Alma Lee Brandon Hutcherson.  He enjoyed fishing and watching old Westerns.  Mr. Hutcherson was also an animal lover.

Mr. Hutcherson is survived by his wife – Shelia Hutcherson; sons – David (Roberta) Hutcherson and Roger Hutcherson; grandson – Elijah (Haley) Trout; and sisters – Mary Harms and Beth (Merrel) Pennington.  Special thanks to Ricky Hardin for being such a good friend and spending so much time with him.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Hardin, Thomas Cosby, James Siegle, Jeff Swedenburg, Jeff Conn, and Johnny Brown. Honorary pallbearer will be Elijah Trout.
