James Edward McCool, 56, of Columbus, MS passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 15, 2017, from 9:00 – 10:30 AM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow at 10:30 AM at Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be a Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Detroit, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mr. McCool was born August 30, 1960, in Columbus, MS to the late James M McCool and Ethel Faye Adams.He worked as an iron worker at a sheet metal company for 25 years. Mr. McCool enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR and Monday Night Wrestling. Everyone knew that when Mr. McCool said "Womba!" it meant that he loved you. He had many friends that would all say he was king of the roundtable. Mr. McCool was preceded in death by his parents, James and Faye McCool and his brother- Marvin "Danny" McCool.

Mr. McCool is survived by his sisters- Debbie Blanton of Millport, AL and Kim (Joel) Wright also of Millport, AL; brother- David McCool of Columbus, MS; nieces- Angie (Brad) Fortner and their children Austin and Lindsey of Steens, MS, Rita (Jeremy) Robertson and their son Chandler of Steens, MS, and Lakelyn McCool of New Hebron, MS; and nephew- Cale Wright.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Blanton, Gary Blanton, Gary Richardson, Chandler Robertson, Austin Fortner, and Cale Wright. Honorary Pallbearers will be Percy Richardson, Terry Hope, Jeff Hope, Ricky Gentry, and friends.
