Mr. James Merrigan, 84, of Columbus, MS passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at Sanctuary Hospice House, Tupelo, MS.
Service arrangements will be made by the family and announced by Lowndes Funeral Home at a later date.
Mr. Merrigan was born September 24, 1937, in Scranton, PA to the late James Merrigan and Jewel Bartosh. He served his country in the United States Air Force and was a mechanic. Mr. Merrigan enjoyed serving his community through volunteerism and sharing his faith with others in the Books A Million coffee shop. He was a bell ringer for the local Salvation Army and served at Loaves & Fishes Ministry. In addition to his parents, Mr. Merrigan is preceded in death by his wife – Vicki Jean Allen Merrigan.
Mr. Merrigan is survived by his daughters – Jamie Merrigan and Stacey Brown; grandchildren – Alan Merrigan, Brooke Merrigan, Kelli Marshall, and Lauren Hatfield; a great-grandchild – Kayleigh Merrigan, and brother – Theodore Merrigan.
